a piece of joy, 2022
hands-on performance
The hands-on performance A Piece of Joy comes with the desire of gathering and going into the opposite of problematics of
life that was dealt with in the crisis flag. In a communal and interactional format between me, the participants and a big flag, I open my process of dyeing in a playful way.
In the first phase (day one), we prepare the materials and color- water together the joy flag, with the best intentions we have. The encounters between the participants would happen in presence but also in colors, as each of them mix among each other directly in the fabric, forming a new unique tone.
In the next day of the live-action dye, the participants are invited to walk around this big portrait of the fun time we had, and we lay down together to rest. Then, each of the participants choose their favorite part of the flag for me to cut it, and everyone can take a piece of joy home
